New Delhi: Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed at a point along the Line of Actual Control in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh on December 9, resulting in minor injuries to some on both sides, military sources said on Monday.
They said the Indian army had engaged in a firm confrontation with Chinese People’s Liberation Army soldiers. “On December 9, PLA troops made contact with the LAC resolutely and resolutely in the Tawang area that our army is fighting for. This confrontation resulted in minor injuries to personnel on both sides,” said a source.
Both sides evacuated the area immediately, the source said. “As a follow-up to the incident, our commander in the area held a flag meeting with his (Chinese) commander to discuss the issue under a structured mechanism to restore peace and tranquility,” the source said. “In some areas along the LAC in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, there are areas of differing views where both sides are patrolling the area up to their claim line. This is the trend since 2006,” the source said .
Meanwhile, an ANI report cited sources as saying that more Chinese soldiers were wounded in the clashes than Indian soldiers. Sources said that about 300 Chinese soldiers came and were fully prepared, but they did not expect that the Indian side was also fully prepared.
