Hyderabad: According to South Central Railway, necessary ground work has already begun in order to complete the upgrade of Secunderabad station within the target time frame of 36 months.
A topographic survey of the site has been completed providing full details of the location. Geotechnical investigations, i.e. soil investigations, were also carried out at various locations in the north and south terminals of the station building to determine the soil layer and design a suitable building structure/steel structure foundation.
A new building containing the RPF Armory and Cash Guard will appear as part of the station upgrade, which requires the demolition of the old railroad quarters. Therefore, the structures have been demolished so that construction can begin.
In a release, SCR said that for construction activities and real-time monitoring, an on-site office and an on-site laboratory have been set up on the south side of the existing station building.
