Hyderabad: Enterprise companies, regardless of size and business, have welcomed Telangana’s industry-friendly policies and the support provided by the state government. Speaking to Telangana Today, Srinivas Garimella, managing director of Daifuku’s Indian subsidiary Vega Conveyors and Automation Private Limited, said it took just two weeks to complete all the formalities and approvals to announce the company’s expansion plans. He said this speaks volumes about the support provided by the Telangana state government.
On the reason for choosing Telangana again, he replied that it is a very progressive state. “We evaluated several options and looked at Karnataka, Gurgaon and other places. But Telangana won because we already had a business here,” Srinivas Garimella said.
The Telangana is driven by vision, commitment and climbing the ladder faster because of its nimble feet. All these factors are driving our expansion in Telangana, he said. “What’s more, the existing ecosystem and proactive governance are other key factors. Whenever any issue arises, the government here reacts faster, which helps us move faster,” Srini Srinivas Garimella said.
Explaining Daifuku’s operations, he said the company mass-produces products and stores them in warehouses. “We fully automate warehouse operations, making material handling much easier and simpler,” he said. The automation products manufactured by Daifuku will meet pan-India needs. Telangana benefits from taxes, and locals, especially young people, get jobs.
The intralogistics automation market will continue to grow rapidly and the company initially plans to employ 250 employees. That number could rise to 800 under full factory capacity utilization, he added. On advice to state governments, he said the manufacturing ecosystem needed to be more centralized. “What Ameerpet has done for the IT industry in the state, something similar should happen for the manufacturing industry here. Scaling up is not a problem for management unless skilled manpower is available,” Srinivas Garimella said.
