Hyderabad: Osmania University on Wednesday opened a Civil Service Academy on the university campus to train students for various civil service exams.
At the launch of the college, Principal Secretary Somesh Kumar said he was pleased that the university had implemented his proposal at the rectors’ meeting to set up a training center at the university to give students the opportunity to pass competitive exams. He suggested that the authorities arrange libraries, security, Wi-Fi and other facilities so that students can prepare for competitive exams around the clock.
OU Vice-Chancellor Professor D Ravinder said the college was set up for students who joined the University as students and left the campus as competent civil servants. Prof R Limbadri, chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Telangana, urged students to make the most of the opportunities offered.
Officials such as Government Chief Secretary (BC Welfare) B Venkatesham, Education Secretary V Karuna, University Education Commissioner Navin Mittal, TSPSC Former Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani and OU Registrar Prof. P Laxminarayana attended the launch.
