Hyderabad: On Tuesday, the Enforcement Bureau unexpectedly told BRS MLA pilot Rohit Reddy that they were questioning him over the MLA poaching case.
The lawmaker, who appeared before ED officers for the second straight day, was grilled for nearly eight hours before being cleared to leave around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
It is worth noting that Rohit Reddy is the plaintiff in the case, which is being investigated by the Special Investigation Unit of the State Police. Although the BJP approached various courts to ask the CBI to investigate the case, the Telangana High Court recently reserved its order in this regard.
After the ED questioning, Rohith Reddy told media personnel that ED officers told him they were questioning him about the MLA poaching case.
“But I don’t understand why the plaintiff was interrogated and not the accused? Even though I was in Ayyappa Deeksha, they harassed me at the request of the BJP,” he said, adding that officials had been asking questions about himself, his family, Details of their sources of income, assets and documents sought etc. He was asked to appear before the ED again on December 27th.
