Hyderabad: Road fatalities in Cyberabad to decrease in 2022. In 2021, a total of 759 people will die in road traffic accidents, and this year, 749 people will die in road traffic accidents.
Of the overall accidents, the number of reported accidents in 2022 will be 3,228 compared to 3,989 in 2021, a significant decrease of approximately 19%.
Cyberabad Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) T Srinivasa Rao said the traffic police, in coordination with other authorities, carried out junction development works and civil works, which helped reduce road accidents.
“The identification and rectification of black spots helps reduce road traffic accidents. Compared with expressways, traffic accidents on the outer ring road have decreased due to effective law enforcement,” he said.
The DCP said they were focusing more on drink-driving cases and speeding, as most accidents were attributed to them. “We are strictly enforcing drink driving checks and booking cases against offenders. All those caught have been presented in court and details of their driving licenses have been forwarded to the Road Traffic Authority and a suspension of their driving licences has been requested,” He said.
Cyberabad police have formed a traffic task force equipped with breathalyzers and wireless devices to help ease the flow of traffic on busy streets during peak hours.
