Hyderabad: A 6-year-old girl was abducted near her grandmother’s house on Friday and was rescued by Mahankali police within hours.

The girl’s mother, Renuka, who works in a private shop, left Kruthika at her mother’s house and went to work. “Around 11 am, the police received the news that the girl was missing and immediately formed a team of 10. Based on the input information and surveillance camera footage, we tracked her down as Siddipet. She was rescued by Mahankali police and handed over to her parents,” DCP (North) Deepti Chandana said.
After abducting the girl, the suspects reached Jubilee Bus Station by car and from there boarded a bus bound for Siddipet but alighted at Hakimpet village. On the way, he took off the girl’s earrings and carried them with him. “The locals suspected him and detained them. They reported the incident to the local police and our team rushed to the scene and rescued the child,” the official said.
Police have arrested the kidnapper and are questioning him.
