Hyderabad: Opposing Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy’s false claim of aid for oil palm cultivation, BRS said the financial aid provided to all states under the National Edible Oil-Palm Mission (NMEO-OP) scheme was only Rs 1.6 billion.
The union minister tweeted on Thursday that the central government had launched the NMEO-OP program with a budget of Rs 1,104 crore. He also said that of the total oil palm arable land in the country, 15 percent is located in Telangana.
The BRS slammed the union minister, saying the union government had spent just Rs 1.6 billion under the scheme in the last two years. At this pace, the party says it will take 138 years to spend the entire allocation of Rs 110.4 billion.
