Hyderabad: Founded in 2003 by the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation, Telugu Wikipedia turned 19 on December 10. Telugu Wikipedia was launched in 2003 as a free online encyclopedia through the efforts of several volunteers, editors and readers.
when it goes to 20day This year, Telugu Wikipedians across the country will celebrate the occasion at Ravindra Bharathi from 10am to 3pm.
This event is organized to encourage students, Telugu lovers and others who are interested in writing to add content in Telugu.
“Thanks to the efforts of several volunteers, it now boasts over 80,000 pages with an average of over 6.5 million page views per month. Nearly 1,000 authors contribute in Telugu, with more than 15 editors from around the world each year million times,” says Pranayraj Vangari at Telugu Wikipedia.
“The Telugu version of Wikipedia has information (pages) on 10,000 villages and 607 mandals in Telangana,” he added.
“In addition to obtaining information and knowledge, users can organize different pages to create a book. People can also sell the book on the market. Wikipedia will not charge you for it, but users must cite Wikipedia as a source, ’ said Pranayraj.
