Telangana leads all other Indian states in administering booster/preventive Covid vaccines to eligible individuals

Hyderabad: In another example of aggressive measures to curb Covid infections, Telangana is leading all other states in India to administer booster/preventive Covid vaccines to eligible individuals.
While the national percentage of people receiving boosters hovers between 23% and 25%, Telangana has administered Covid boosters to 47.6% of its eligible population, the largest in the country, followed by It was followed by Andhra Pradesh with 46.3% of eligible people receiving booster shots.
Himachal Pradesh came third with 41.7%, while Odisha was fourth with 40.6% of the eligible population vaccinated with booster shots. Gujarat came fifth with 39.6% of its eligible population receiving preventive Covid vaccine doses.
“From day one of the Covid pandemic, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has put great focus on ensuring Telangana has the best healthcare facilities for patients in need. We are delighted that we have taken the lead in administering the largest number of preventive Covid vaccines in India Dose. We also hope that the New Delhi Health Ministry will ensure sufficient booster supply for Telangana in the coming days so that booster shots can be given to more eligible people,” Health Minister T Harish Rao said on Saturday.
