Hyderabad: To ensure passenger safety and prevent road accidents, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has appointed a total of 94 “safety supervisors” to train RTC bus drivers on road safety and driving skills.
According to RTC officials, as part of proactive measures, Chennai-based Chola MS has been invited to conduct a detailed study on safety measures and gap assessments to be taken to enhance accident prevention measures.
Organize the top and bottom cadres of various departments to form a group to study the best practices of other state-owned road traffic units across the country, and implement them in the company according to feasibility.
TSRTC managing director VC Sajjanar urged citizens, especially motorists, to be careful around RTC buses. “It is often observed that reckless overtaking and motorists driving in zigzags around heavy vehicles can lead to road accidents. On our side, we are providing safety training to our staff.
We also ask citizens to cooperate and follow traffic rules to prevent road accidents,” he said.
