Hyderabad: The state government has procured 5.9 million metric tons of paddy from 1.04 million farmers so far this season. The total value of paddy procured so far is Rs 12,051 crore and Rs 11,000 crore has been deposited into farmers’ bank accounts.
Of the 7,011 rice procurement centers, 4,607 have completed procurement as planned, and 4,607 have been closed. Among all the districts, the Nizamabad district procured the highest stock at 600,000 tonnes, followed by Nalgonda at 400,000 tonnes, Civilian Supply Minister G Kamalakar said in a statement.
Paddy procurement continues in Adilabad, Gadhwar, Rangaredi and Vikarabad districts, he added.
