Hyderabad: As family and friends get together to celebrate the New Year, renowned cooking oil brand Gold drop has shared some interesting treats that could be part of the revelry and hearty end-of-year feasts.
Mitesh Lohiya, Director of Sales and Marketing, said: “At Gold Drop, we take a trip down memory lane and cherish the time you spent with us. We, the entire Lohiya Parivar take this opportunity to wish each of you a stellar end to the year and A better 2023.”
A great way to start a conversation when friends arrive is to have our favorite Murukku around. Everyone loves it, especially if it has your special spice added. It could be an Indian spice like kalonji, or even a dash of sumac.
It goes perfectly with a mocktail with tomato and guava juice, sprinkled with crumbled sauce and pepper, and finished with a sprinkle of parsley (fresh dhaniya leaves would work too). And just like that, the party started and everyone wanted to know what was going to happen next.
Just to add some crunch before your next fun dish, there’s always the all-time favorite banana slices – whether dry or raw, ripe bananas.
That’s when you’re ready to try something different – Bhindi Popcorn. Already sounds fun and really easy to make. Slice the Bhindi thinly, add some cornstarch and besan, once again add your favorite spices. Don’t forget the salt and haldi. Then fry it for a few minutes.
Now is the time for fun, crunchy chicken or fish. The key is to coat chicken in powdered milk or fish in rice noodles before frying or shallow frying. There are also different techniques for this dish – it can be fried in a wok or in a deep frying pan (which you’ll usually see used at Chinese stalls). A cast iron skillet also gives excellent results for chicken. Throw in some sliced garlic, scallions, diced garlic, and chilli, and you’ll have guests licking their fingers. Be sure to use a light oil that has some sesame seeds in it. Be careful with the fish, it may break, so don’t move it too much.
Gold drop is a world-class premium ultra-refined oil that is ultra-pure, light, and odorless; and brings the trusted brand promise of quality purity and consistency to ensure great taste.
You can have a bowl of another interesting South Indian dish – Sundal made with Kala Chana, Rajma or Green Beans. It is fried with spices and coconut without any onion or garlic.
For a main course, vegetable or chicken or lamb biryani is served with wisps of saffron and a few drops of fragrant rosewater to take the festivities to the next level.
After a pleasant meal, all that’s left is dessert. It could be coconut lados – desiccated coconut with cardamom or a moist chocolate fudge brownie, also baked in the pressure cooker. One trick to bring out the chocolate flavor is to sprinkle very (very, very) little salt. Here’s a chef’s secret, and we’re going to share it with you. But remember, it’s only about four sugar crystals and you’ll have a salty brownie.
