Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A middle school student was electrocuted to death after accidentally touching an electronic snare used for hunting wild animals at the edge of the forest in the village of Pardhanguda in Kaghaznagar on Saturday night.
Ade Vishnu, 18, from Kosini village, Kaghaznagar mandal, was found dead, Kaghaznagar village police said. He was on his way to guard the cotton crop Saturday night and was returning home when the accident happened. According to reports, he and his friends celebrated the New Year in his farmland.
Police transferred the body to Sirpur (T) Government Hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered and an investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, 10 attempted murders of wildlife hunters have been registered in the region in the past fortnight. Police Commissioner K Suresh Kumar has warned that stern action will be taken against those who set the trap.
