New Delhi: Two people were killed and 13 others were injured in a fire at a nursing home in Greater Kailash-2, South Delhi, on Sunday morning.
According to the information, the fire department received a call about the incident at around 5:15 am, and shortly after receiving the call, the fire department dispatched four fire engines to the scene.
“The fire broke out on the second and third floors of the building. A senior care center was being operated there. Two people were killed in the accident, while we rescued six people from the scene,” fire officials said.
Local police also rushed to the scene to assist firefighters in the rescue.
Police said about 13 injured people were taken to a nearby hospital by them.
Rescue operations are underway. The fire department said the fire was under control.
Eight people were trapped, two died and six were rescued, the fire department said.
