Hyderabad: What started early Saturday evening culminated in midnight as Hyderabad ushered in 2023 with gusto and fanfare. The parties, parties, music, dancing and firecrackers continued well past midnight as revelers threw a huge party after two years of Covid-19 scare.
Mass rallies were held around the city as people said goodbye to 2022 and greeted 2023 with their loved ones. Most clubs and convention centers are full, and the party continues until dawn. While city clubs, including Begumpet Country Club, were packed, young people were also seen opting to ring in the new year at private house parties.
The city’s most popular hangout, The Necklace also sees people coming together at midnight to cut the cake. Many also drove along the lake as fireworks lit up the sky across the city.
As New Year’s greetings kept landing and phones refused to be muted, social media platforms turned into a hive of activity as people shared their best images from New Year’s Eve festivities.
People also attended midnight mass at various churches in the Twin Cities. On Sunday morning, people flocked to temples and other religious places to pray for good luck and good fortune in the coming year as the New Year ushers in.
