Hyderabad: Aahana Kumra and Sharib Hashmi are both set to star in a Hindi feature film called Cancer. The film is directed by Faisal Hashmi, who is known for Gujarati films like ‘Vitamin She’ and the award-winning ‘Short Circuit’.
Lonestar Films, an American-based entertainment production company, announced the film recently. Talking about planning the project, Aahana shared, “Sometimes the script challenges you and makes you want to jump up and do the movie right away. That’s how I felt after reading the script for Cancer and I can’t wait to be great with me. co-star Sharib Hashmi shot it with our director Faisal.”
“Cancer,” written by Faisal Hashmi and Gary Rowlands, is being touted as a mind-bending thriller and is currently in pre-production. The film will be released early next year. The search for a third clue has begun and will be announced soon.
Following the film’s release, Bollywood stars took to social media to express their support for “cancer”. Director Hansal Mehta joined Manoj Bajpayee, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Chandan Roy Sanyal on Instagram to congratulate the cast. Also, Shreyas Talpade said on Twitter: “Congratulations to the new entrepreneurial brother @PatelDevansh. Chief creative officer saheb… wish you success (sic).”
Lonestar Films was founded in the US, driven by serial entrepreneur Pankaj Mamtora. Chief Creative Officer Devansh Patel will handle creative assignments and oversee the India operations alongside the Project Director.
