Pedapari: Detectives from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a deputy registrar and an office subordinate for accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 for official assistance at the deputy registration office in Peddapalli town on Tuesday.
According to the ACB, Deputy Registrar Devanagiri Nirmala and Srinivasulu under the office demanded Rs 60,000 from the complainant Pudari Srinivas to obtain the land documents. The Deputy Registrar had also earlier accepted bribes from complainants for official assistance.
When the deputy registrar demanded further bribes, he approached the ACB, who set a trap and caught them red-handed as they accepted the bribe.
