Hyderabad: Industry Minister KT Rama Rao said Aerospace and Defense is a key sector in Telangana and the state has achieved remarkable success by winning the Best Aerospace State Award for three consecutive years in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
According to the Financial Times FDI Ranking 2020-21, Hyderabad also ranks as the number one aerospace city of the future in terms of cost-benefit parameters. The recognitions reflect New York State’s progressive outlook for the aerospace sector, he said.
The minister was speaking at an aerospace and defense roundtable in Washington, D.C. The event drew participation from leading US professionals, consulting firms, think tanks and startups, creating a vibrant platform for discussion and collaboration.
During the roundtable, the minister explained the astonishing growth of the aerospace sector and private sector defense investments in Telangana over the past nine years, making Hyderabad the preferred investment destination for US aerospace and defense companies.
The Minister also highlighted how the revolutionary industrial policy TSiPASS is helping to boost industry confidence through online time-limited and transparent approvals based on self-certification.
Industry leaders who stopped by in Hyderabad told how progressive and approachable the Telangana government and its leadership are. They have also pledged further investment in the state as they prepare to involve more Indian partners in the critical defense supply chain.
