Hyderabad: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Glot on Sunday responded to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s views on BJP defection politics, saying that Saffron Party is buying MLAs to overthrow elected governments in different states like buying Goats come to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
He claimed that the BJP used monetary power to overthrow governments in Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
“The BJP also tried to overthrow me in Rajasthan, but it didn’t work out,” Gallot said in apparent reference to the turmoil as he prepared to fight the congressional presidential election.
He was speaking at a rally in the town of Hedbrama in Gujarat’s Sabakanta district, where parliamentary elections will be held by the end of the year.
“The BJP’s actions are weakening democracy. They overthrow state governments and form their own government after buying MLAs. Using the money received through election bonds, they buy MLA like people buy goats from bakra mandis during Eid al-Fitr ,” Gehlot said.
