New Delhi: Air India has launched a new premium economy class experience for its passengers, offering better cabin products, in-flight services and more ground convenience.
Premium Economy passengers will be able to check-in at a dedicated counter, have a priority sticker attached to their checked bags and be among the first invited to board.
The course will initially be available to customers traveling on select routes operated by its Boeing 777-200LR fleet: Bangalore-San Francisco, Mumbai-San Francisco and Mumbai-New York.

We are delighted to now be introducing a unique Premium Economy experience for our customers on select flights , and plans to expand it to more routes soon as our fleet rapidly expands and modernizes.This is another example of our sincere and continuous efforts to transform Air India into a modern global airline with world-class product and service standards step.”
Premium Economy Class on an Air India Boeing 777-200LR aircraft features 48 leather-upholstered memory foam seats with a width of 19 inches, a pitch of 38 inches, a recline of 5 inches, adjustable leg rests and footrests, and belt wing headrest. These seats provide passengers with extra legroom during the flight, allowing passengers to rest or work in comfort.
Premium Economy passengers receive an elegant TUMI travel kit (designed exclusively for Air India) for free, including a pair of flight socks, an eye mask, MALIN+GOETZ lip balm and a pen, and carpet slippers. Passengers will also receive noise-canceling headphones to use during the flight to complement the experience with Air India’s Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system.
In addition, air travelers will be greeted when flying in Air India’s premium economy class with a welcome drink served on an elegant silver tray and a menu card reflecting the delicious food experience during the flight. On board, patrons can choose from three meals with a delicious entrée served in a beautiful china casserole, accompanied by appetizers and desserts. The drinks menu includes a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
