New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday unveiled India’s Test and ODI line-up for the West Indies tour, with veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane managing to keep his place while limited-overs talisman Hardik Pandya Promoted to Vice Captain.
The series will run a total of eight games over the course of a month. India will kick off the series with two Test matches, the first of which will be played at the Windsor Park Stadium in Dominican Republic from 12-16 July.
The second Test match will take place at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad from June 20-24. India is also planning to field five T20Is and the lineup will be announced later.
After the Test series, there will be a two-day break and on the third day, India will play a three-match ODI series against West Indies. The ODI series is important as it will help Indian think tanks assess their standing in white-ball cricket ahead of the ODI World Cup in India later this year.
The first ODI will be played at Kensington Oval in Barbados on July 27, with the second at the same venue on July 29. The third and final match of the series will be played on August 1 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad.
After the ODI series, the two teams will play a five-match T20I series. The first match of the series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad on August 3.
The second T20I match will be played at the Guyana National Stadium on 6th August and the second match will be played at the same stadium on 8th August.
The fourth and fifth T20I matches will be played at Broward County Stadium in Florida on August 12-13.
