hunt: Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar said all water tanks in the state are filled year-round. This was possible only because of the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
The minister took part in the Irrigation Day celebrations in Dharmapuri on Wednesday as part of the Telangana Formation Day.
In his speech, Eshwal said farmers in united Andhra Pradesh faced difficulty in planting crops due to lack of irrigation water and adequate electricity supply. Unable to keep farming, farmers often migrate to other states in search of work. There have also been incidents of farmers committing suicide because they could not pay off their agricultural debts.
However, the situation changed after the formation of the independent state of Telangana. Dry land has been turned into greenery as the chief minister builds irrigation projects.
Yellala Srikanth, chairman of DCMS, and Sangi Sattemma, chairman of the city council, attended the celebration.
