Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Agency (APSDMA) on Tuesday forecast severe heatwave weather in one Mandalay district, with 117 districts across the state.
Komarada mandal in Parvatipuram Manyam district is the only group of villages expected to experience a severe heat wave.
While the heat wave is expected to hit seven Mandals in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, 16 in Anakapalli, four in East Godavari, two each in Eluru, Palnadu, Visakhapatnam and Nandyala, six in Gunturu and 10 in Krishna, the disaster management department said in a report. China said it issued a statement on Monday.
Similarly, there are 4 mandals in Krishna district, 13 each in NTR and YSR Kadapa, 12 in Parvatipuram Manyam, 5 in Srikakulam and 19 in Vizianagaram.
Of the 117 mandals, Chintur and Nellipaka in Alluri Sitarama Raju district may set a record of 44.7 degrees Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius respectively today.
Although disaster management did not expect a severe heat wave on Monday, they were recorded in 14 mandals, five in Anacapali district, three in Parnadu, two in Eluru, Krishna, Prakasam and Nandiyala each had one, out of which 116 Mandals experienced heat waves.
BR Ambedkar, Managing Director of APSDMA advised people to be vigilant of the extreme heat and take necessary precautions.
