Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh National Disaster Management Agency (APSDMA) is forecasting 11 heat waves on Monday and 15 on Tuesday. Temperatures in parts of Andhra Pradesh could hit 40 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday, despite the impact of the Bay of Bengal cyclone. The APSDMA said temperatures will rise in the coming weeks.
Four mandals in Alluri Sitarama Raju, two mandals in Kakinada and Anakapalli districts will experience the heatwave on Monday, reports said. On Tuesday, six mandals in Alluri Sitarama Raju, three mandals in Anakapalle and Kakinada and one mandal in East Godavari, Eluru and Prakasam districts are expected to experience heat waves. The Nandial region recorded a maximum daytime temperature of 39.1C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in the Bay of Bengal, wind instability has increased significantly and low pressure is expected over the next 24 hours.
