The Government of Andhra Pradesh has launched the YSR Bima scheme, a life insurance scheme for families of eligible citizens

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy has asked all collectors to register by June 7 for all individuals eligible for YSR Bima. He said June 7 was the last date for YSR Bima registration. In sequence, volunteers from all village and district secretariats are identifying and registering people for the program, which will come into force on July 1.
The government of Andhra Pradesh has introduced YSR Bima scheme, a life insurance scheme for eligible citizens’ families. The program is delivered directly by the government through village and district secretariats.
The program covers eligible heads of households between the ages of 18 and 50. Premiums for this scheme are paid by the state government. In the event of natural death of any insured head of household, she or his relatives will receive Rs 100,000 in compensation.If the head of the family dies unnaturally, such as accidental death, or permanent disability, the insurance company will pay Rs 500,000 for the rest of the family
The program is expected to benefit approximately 10 million families in the state. The state government has decided to allocate Rs 3.72 billion in the budget for the implementation of the scheme.
