Amaravati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported rain and thunderstorms in all parts of Andhra Pradesh over the next five days. Forecasts point to high mercury levels in some parts of the state. “Hot and uncomfortable weather is likely to be expected in remote areas of northern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema,” IMD wrote in a May 29 report.
From May 30 to June 1, the IMD reported that “Thunderstorms with lightning and wind gusts of 30-40 km/h may occur in the remote areas of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on the north coast, Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on the south coast. area.”
Thunderstorms and rain are expected in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema in the evening and night of May 29, 2023. Affected areas in coastal Andhra Pradesh are ASR, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Ubhaya Godavari, Kakinada Konaseema, Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Parvathipuram, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. The affected areas of Rayalaseema are Prakasam, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur and YSR Kadapa.
The storm is expected to develop along the Nallamala forest in Prakasam district and spread to Rayalaseema district. Visakhapatnam is expected to see less rain as the turn will come from the sea.
