Amaravati: The state will continue to experience a heatwave over the next two days, with temperatures set to hit 45C. Several mandals in Kakinada recorded a daytime temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius in recent days, the highest recorded for the season. In Vizinagaram district, the Bondapalli mandal recorded a temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius, with the highest temperature reaching 29.2 degrees Celsius.
About 18 Mandals reported temperatures above 44C on Saturday. According to a bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, heat waves are possible in remote areas of northern coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and southern coastal Andhra Pradesh. Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in remote areas of northern coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Raya Rasama.
Additionally, wind gusts of 30-40 km/h are expected in remote areas of northern coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
