Dehradun: Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor met India goalkeeper Rishabh Pant and asked about his health after the latter’s car crashed early on Friday morning.
Panter suffered a broken leg and underwent plastic surgery for facial burns, according to doctors.
Earlier, BCCI secretary Jai Shah spoke to Pant’s family and offered assistance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Pant’s family.
A team from the Derry and District Cricket Association (DDCA) is on its way to meet the cricketers.
DDCA Director Shyam Sharma has said that the Pant will be airlifted if required. However, he is said to be out of danger.
Panter’s head and spine scans were reported to be normal, and his knee and ankle scans are scheduled for later Saturday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed concern over Pante’s torn ligament in his right knee.
According to media reports, the BCCI team of doctors met with the doctors who treated Pant in Dehradun and it was decided that his ligaments would be treated by the BCCI medical team, for which he could be sent abroad.
