Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme for 2023 on June 28. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to mothers of students in grades I to XII to help them pay for their children’s education.
Under the scheme, Rs 15,000 will be deposited directly into the bank account of the student’s mother or approved guardian.
The program is open to all families living below the poverty line and meeting certain criteria. In rural areas, the total monthly household income should not exceed 10,000 yuan, and in urban areas, it should be limited to 12,000 yuan.
Also, the family owned property should be less than 1,000 square feet.
Amma Vodi’s main objectives are to increase enrollment and retention rates, promote equity for better learning outcomes, and promote the all-round development of children by providing a strong educational foundation.
In addition, the program aims to increase the overall gross enrollment ratio in primary and secondary education and have a positive impact on higher education.
