Mumbai: Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has been tapped by Yash Raj Films principal honcho Aditya Chopra to direct the second installment of the blockbuster War starring Hrithik Roshan.
An unnamed source said, “Aditya Chopra is strategically choosing the captain for each YRF spy universe movie. The pulse of the Indian audience. He has shown that he knows how to install a film with a large size, which is essential for director War 2.
“Also, he’s a young filmmaker who can bring something different and fresh to the world of espionage. Ayan will have his unique vision of how to make an epic action spectacle with War 2. When the director uploaded a note this morning hinting at directing a very special movie, people began to speculate that Ayan would direct War 2!
“War” was released in 2019. It is directed by “Pathaan” producer Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Tiger Shroff.
