canman: After the BJP took power at the centre, the lives of the poor in the district have become miserable, complains Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
He lashed out at the BJP’s policies, which he said recently drove 400,000 farmers to suicide because they were unable to get profitable prices for their produce. He addressed the CPI(M)’s Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham Maha Sabha here on Thursday.

BJP government uses governors as their political proxies in states not ruled by BJP. Not only in Kerala but in all other non-BJP states of the country, the federal system is being undermined. So, says the Kerala CM, secular forces should unite against it.
There were 400,000 job vacancies in 2016, and that number has now doubled, he said. Temporary employees were appointed in the army in the name of Agnipath. He cautioned that unemployed youth are revolting.
The meeting was presided over by G Nagaiah, President of Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham State, and his National General Secretary B Venkat, State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (M) Tammineni Veerabhadram made speeches.
