Hyderabad: Cadbury has sued social media influencer Revant Himatsingka after he revealed the amount of sugar and harmful ingredients Cadbury used in Bournvita. He explained that Bournvita is known as a health drink because it contains 73.1 grams of sugar per 100 grams, is 150 C in color, or caramel, and is known to cause cancer and lower immunity. He also raises the question of how these ingredients will help boost immunity and brain function. Influencers say Bournvita’s catchphrase “taiyari jeet ki” should be changed to “taiyari diabetes ki”.
The video went viral on all social media platforms and many people woke up to post that it is important to check the ingredients before buying a product. Most of them questioned Cadbury how they were able to market such a harmful drink, which is mainly consumed by young children.
In this regard, Bournvita officially released a statement stating that “Bournvita can enhance immunity, and the sugar content is lower than the prescribed safety limit for children.”
Earlier, on April 13, Cadbury served a legal notice to the influencer, forcing him to remove the video. As a result, netizens lashed out at Cadbury and trended #Bournvita and #Cadbury on Twitter.

This whole scenario backfired on the Cadbury team! I haven’t seen the video but it has been uploaded by various twitter users after cadbury’s prank. I’ve seen the same type of video from Fit Tuber where he demonstrates this gimmick.

A video like this is sure to do damage when it goes viral. I remember here in Australia there was a problem with halal certification. I think that was in 2014. To regain that trust, Cadbury ran some specific advertising campaigns and gave away free milk bars for a period of time! I…
