Hyderabad: Australian all-rounder Cameroon Green was bought by Mumbai Indians for 175 million in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) auction at Grand Hyatt Kochi today. He is now the second most expensive player in IPL history after Sam Kuran who was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 185 crore in today’s auction.
Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore started bidding for Cameroon with a price tag of Rs 1 crore and were soon joined by Delhi Capitals. However, the Mumbai Indians managed to snag the Aussies for Rs 185 million.
IPL 2023 will be Green’s debut in the IPL. Green, who plays for the BBL Perth Heat, represented Australia in eight T20I matches, scoring 139 points with a hit rate of 173.75.
He is the fourth Australian player to join the Mumbai Indians after Tim David, Jason Behlendorf and Jay Richardson.

“I was pinching myself with all this happening. It was a weird feeling to watch an auction in person. I couldn’t believe how nervous I was, and when the final call was confirmed I was shaking like anything,” Green said. Reacted after being sold to Mumbai Indians.
