Hyderabad: Every time Telangana points out that the center is biased in awarding new railway lines or extending more projects to the country, Bharatiya Janata party leaders and ministers deny it.
Some even made announcements, either about the development of Secunderabad railway station or about the approval of Vande Bharat Express to operate from the state. Even these, so far, have not seen much progress.
And now, even the figures listed in the RBI’s latest Statistical Handbook of Indian States are evidence that Telangana’s leaders have been telling the truth since 2014.
According to RBI data, the Center has approved 1,871 km of railway lines in the state in 2021. That might sound like a lot, but it’s not that big compared to other states. BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh has 8,799 km, while Maharashtra has 5,823 km and Gujarat has 5,327 km. Madhya Pradesh has 5,140 km while Karnataka has 3,572 km.
Big countries get more? Do not.
Even for a state smaller than Rangana in the seven years from 2017 to 2021, the number of railway lines in Jharkhand has been increasing, with Jharkhand adding 2,182 km in 2014, Added 2,294 km in 2015, 2,394 km in 2016 and 2,455 km in 2017, of which 2,573 km of railway lines are given in 2021.
On the other hand, Telangana reached 1,753 km in 2014, 1,676 km in 2015 and 1,737 km in 2016, a figure that has never exceeded 2,000 km in seven years. It will reach 1828 kilometers in 2020 and 1871 kilometers in 2021.
Connection Status? there is none left. Neighboring Andhra Pradesh sanctioned 3,965 km in 2021.
In fact, the 151km Kothapalli-Manoharabad rail line is the only major project launched in the state since the state was formed. The project is likely to be completed by the end of 2024. The 54.1 km new railway line between Kothagudem and Sathupalli was jointly constructed by Southern Central Railway Company and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd at a cost of Rs 927.94 crore and is the only railway line completed in the past five years so far.
Apart from this, it is now known that the promises in the AP Restructuring Bill, which included that the railway department would review the feasibility of setting up a railway coach factory in Telangana and improve the state’s railway connectivity, are still on paper and the project came here Go to other BJP ruled countries.
