New Delhi: The central government will try to get the Biodiversity (Amendment) Bill 2022 passed in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The controversial bill amends the Biodiversity Act 2002 to simplify compliance requirements for domestic companies. It also removes research and biological survey activities from the scope of benefit-sharing requirements.

The bill also decriminalizes all offenses under the Act. After the bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha in December 2021, it was sent to a joint parliamentary group. The group has already submitted a report on the proposed legislation.

Another bill titled the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill 2023, which seeks to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order 1950 to revise the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Castes List, will also be tabled in the Lower House.

Apart from this, the government will also introduce the National Nursing and Midwifery Council Bill 2023 in the Lok Sabha. Additionally, the House of Commons will introduce the National Dental Council Bill 2023, which will regulate the dental profession in the country, provide quality and affordable dental education, and provide access to high-quality oral healthcare.

A considerable number of reports from parliamentary standing committees are also due to be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The Standing Committee on Defense will present its report on the Services Organization (Command, Control and Discipline) Bill 2023.

In addition to this, the parliamentary farming and food processing group will present two reports in the House of Commons. Five reports from the Standing Committee on Labor will also be submitted to the Lok Sabha.
