Hyderabad: All episodes from the latest season of the award-winning MUBI podcast are now available. The third season, titled “Needle on the Record,” delves into the unifying power of music in film and tells the stories behind some of the most famous “needle drops” in film — where filmmakers use pre-existing music rather than original sheet music moment.
From the 19th-century waltz that sent Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey into orbit, to Donnie Darko’s top UK charts. It’s a six-part mixtape for movie buffs.
The full season is now available on all major streaming platforms, including a special bonus episode where Lukas Dhont discusses his Academy Award-nominated feature film “Close.”
In addition to Dhont, this season’s guests include filmmaker Richard Kelly, actor Jena Malone, music director Randall Poster, musicians Noel Hogan and Paul Douglas, and more.
