Hyderabad: Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will be actively campaigning and fully supporting Janata Dal (secular) in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections scheduled for May this year. She also exudes confidence that a farmer-friendly government will come to power at the center after the 2024 general election.
Addressing a meeting organized by JD(S) Gulbarga District Chairman Balaraj Shiva Guthedhar in Kalaburagi, Karnataka on Sunday, the minister said that all BRS leaders, including the minister, except Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, will be broadly speaking in the coming days. Visit Karnataka and seek to vote for JD(S) led by HD Kumaraswamy.
“Our aim is to bring the JD(S) party to power in Karnataka and make HD Kumarswamy the chief minister of the state,” she said.
Rathod said Chandrashekhar Rao has formulated new agriculture and water policies to bring qualitative change to the country and ensure the country’s progress.
“While the Telangana state government provides pensions of Rs 2,016 per month to senior citizens and single women, the BJP government in Karnataka only provides Rs 600 per month,” the minister noted. She said none of the welfare and development programs initiated by the Telangana government had been implemented in Karnataka.
While the Telangana government has increased ST’s retention rate to 10 per cent in education and employment at government agencies, she said the Karnataka government has not provided any support to the tribal communities in the state.
