Hyderabad: The Practicing Buddhist Association commended Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for installing a 125-foot-tall statue of BR Ambedkar in the city and naming a new secretariat after the father of India’s constitution.
Association secretary KR Rawat said in a letter to the chief minister on Saturday that the association thanked him for naming the new secretariat after the freedom fighter. He said the installation of the 125ft tall Dr BR Ambedkar statue on April 14 as part of the Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations was a great achievement.
“These moves make people who follow Ambedkar’s ideology happier,” Rawat said. He added that the Association of Buddhist Practices prays to the Buddha to bless you with good health and energy to carry out these unique projects and do more for the well-being of the people of Telangana.
