Digging into Telangana’s illustrious past, led by historian and author Sriramoju Haragopal

Hyderabad: Telangana has witnessed more than 200 million years of history and is the pride of the country and its people, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said here on Sunday.
He launched a five-volume Telangana history book published by Bharat Jagruti to commemorate Telangana Literature Day, a 21-day decennial state Part of the founding celebrations.
Praising the efforts of historians in uncovering the history of the state, he said Telangana has a rich heritage with traces of history stretching back tens of millions of years.
He pointed out that understanding the social conditions and administrative systems of the past will help pave the way for the future. For the past six years, the History Department of Bharat Jagruti has visited and studied many historical places in Telangana.
Led by historian and author Sriramoju Haragopal, efforts have been made to study Telangana’s glorious past. Edited by Mamidi Harikrishna and Vemuganti Muralikrishna, the results of the fieldwork and information gathered in the process have been compiled into a book.
The Chief Minister was informed that the team studied a variety of historical evidence including fossils, buildings, inscriptions, coins and writings traced at their respective locations. He congratulated the staff of the Jagruti History Department and the President of Bharat Jagruti, MLC K Kavitha.
Historian Sriramoju Haragopal, Poet and Editor Vemuganti Muralikrishna, Telangana Foods Chairman M Rajeev Sagar, Bharat Jagruti Secretary General Ranga Naveen Acary were present.
