On Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s 197th birthday, Chief Minister remembers social reformer’s service and sacrifice

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the aspirations and actions of social scientist and philosopher Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule still inspire the present generation, who devoted his life to fighting against hegemonic values and the equal living of people in all fields to inspire state governments.
On the 197th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the Chief Minister remembered the social reformer’s contributions and sacrifices for the country.
Jyotiba Phule began its activities almost 200 years ago to uplift Dalits, tribals and backward communities against caste and gender discrimination.
He said that the path of social equality followed by Jyotiba Phule paved the way for a radical change in the traditional social values and institutions of Indian society at the time, adding that Phule’s action plan encouraged women and Dalits as well as backward communities to fight for quality Change.
Recalling that Dr BR Ambedkar himself declared Mahatma Phule as his mentor, the Chief Minister said that the Telangana government is implementing development and welfare programmes, prioritizing the fulfillment of the aspirations of great figures like Jyotiba Phule.
The State Government is committed to the development of disadvantaged groups based on the belief that development is the antidote to discrimination.
The Chief Minister said that with the development and welfare programs implemented by the state government, Dalits, tribals, disadvantaged groups and women in Telangana have achieved good socio-political, economic and cultural outcomes and moved towards social equality step forward.
Most of the beneficiaries of programs implemented by the state government are disadvantaged communities. SC and Tribes Special Development Fund, Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship, SC Skills Training, Up to 101 Free Electricity for SCs and STs, SC Special Development Fund, TS Pride for Entrepreneurs, SC, Home of Tribal Dignity and Upgrading He pointed out , the thandas as Grama Panchayats are implemented specifically for SC and ST development.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Foreign Education Fund for Development of BC, BC Gurukuls, Sheep Distribution, Pond Fish Farming for Besta and Mudiraj Community Employment, Building Self-Esteem for BC, Accident Insurance for Palm Wine Pickers, Weavers and Fishermen, Rehabilitation for Welfare for the poor, special benefit schemes for toddy shops, toddy corkscrews, assistance to weavers, free electricity in salons, construction of modern washing machines for washing machines and dhobi ghats are also being implemented.
Chandrashekhar Rao reiterated that Mahatma Phule’s ideals and aspirational goals are an inspiration to the Telangana government, saying that Telangana has become a role model for the country and the government will pursue its action plan to ensure that the concept of equality of all sectors is promulgated in all sectors of the country.
