Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone for the Airport Express Metro Corridor at Mindspace Junction, before speaking at a public meeting at Telangana Police Station, Rajendranagar on December 9.
A team of ministers including Livestock Minister T. Srinivas Yadav, Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali visited both sites and interacted with senior officials on the arrangement of events.
Chevella MP, Ranjith Reddy, MA&UD Special Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director, NVS Reddy, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra and MLAs Prakash Goud and A.Gandhi also attended the inspection.

Speaking at the event, Srinivas Yadav said that the ongoing second phase of the metro project with an estimated budget of Rs 6,250 crore will benefit dozens of commuters in the city and ensure access to Shabad Airport of people enjoy comfortable and smooth travel. The 31-kilometre project will take passengers between the airport and Mindspace in Hitec City within 20 minutes, he said.
To remove traffic bottlenecks and provide comfortable urban commuting, the state government has embarked on a massive infrastructure improvement with the construction of underpasses and flyovers, he said. Srinivas Yadav added that the government is also emphasizing on having effective public transport with various measures including the expansion of the metro.
