Jagadish reddy says welfare schemes and development projects implemented by state government have made a qualitative difference in people’s lives
Surya pets: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said on Tuesday that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had introduced a new model of government centered on welfare and development, which has now become a model for the entire country.
Speaking at the BRS Suryapet Constituency Plenary Session, Jagadish Reddy said the welfare schemes and development projects implemented by the state government had brought about a qualitative change in people’s lives. He reminded that the state government has adopted the Dalit Bandhu to eliminate economic inequality in the society. The transformation of tribal hamlets into grama panchayats led to the development of thandas and increased tribal representation in local institutions, he added.
Noting that women will play a key role in strengthening the household economy, he said the Chief Minister designed various schemes by including housewives as beneficiaries. Benefit programs include interest-free loans and other programs aimed at women’s empowerment.
He reminded that delivering drinking water to their families earlier was a difficult task for women, noting that women were forced to walk kilometers with water bottles on their heads to deliver drinking water. Mission Bhagiratha solves the state’s problems and pipes safe drinking water to every household. He said Chandrashekhar Rao used 2014 as a milestone as a reference before and after discussions on welfare and development issues.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and others attended.
