New Delhi: Congress on Sunday backed senior party leader and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot after his former deputy Sachin Pilot claimed the senior MP had not acted on any complaints filed against BJP leader Vasundhara Raje over corruption allegations, And announced to hold a one-day fasting on April 11th as a sign of protest.
“The Rajasthan Congress government with Gelot as Chief Minister has implemented a lot of programs and introduced many new initiatives for the people,” Congress secretary-general Jaram Ramesh said in a statement. It had a profound effect. It put the state in a leadership position in the governance of our country.”
He said the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan was a great success achieved through the dedication and determination of the party organization in the state.
“Later this year, Congress will seek a new mandate from the people based on these landmark achievements and the collective efforts of our organization,” he added.
Earlier, former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot slammed Gehlot, saying: “The Vasandara government has done nothing about corruption. Among the opposition , we had promised that there would be an investigation. With the election still 6-7 months away, questions may be raised if there is any alliance between Glott and Raj. Action must be taken soon to prove otherwise. Congress The staff should also feel that there is no difference between what we say and what we do.”
“In opposition to the Vasundhara Raje-led government, we have spoken out about scams worth Rs 45,000 crore and promised that our government will come and investigate them,” Pilot said.
