Hyderabad: The development of link roads in the city has yielded positive results, with traffic being distributed more efficiently in Hyderabad’s road network and reducing the load on arterial/arterial roads.rapid adoption
In a short period of time, these road links have been favored by motorists because they are the shortest alternative routes. While all linking roads are being developed by Hyderabad Roads Development Company Limited (HRDCL) by Municipal and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister KT Rama Rao to improve the transport network and ease the growing traffic congestion, the IT corridors One road is being developed by Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).
Among them, the 0.5km link from T-Hub to Raidurgam developed by TSIIC, the 0.95km link from Mumbai Old Expressway to Khajaguda via Chitrapuri Colony and the 1km link from Khajaguda Lake to ORR are compounded with Urdu University Walls parallel, are some examples of connecting roads that reduce the load on nearby major roads.
For example, traffic on Biodiversity Road, Biodiversity Junction and IKEA Rotary Station has been significantly reduced as commuters use the newly developed link road from T-Hub to Raidurgam.
Likewise, congestion on the main road parallel to the JV Hills Park to the Masjid Banda Link Road passing through the Prabhupadha Layout leading to the GHMC Serilingampally Regional Office has eased.
Motorists say that in addition to reducing commute times, connecting roads also ensures a better commute. “Due to the new link road from T-Hub to Raidurgam, commuting distance and time have been cut in half. The main benefits of this road include smooth commuting,” said IT employee Rapuri Santosh.
With the existing link roads coming to fruition, the Telangana government has come up with the Missing Links project (Phase III) under which 104 link roads will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,410 crore.
Apart from improving mobility and reducing commuting distances on Hyderabad’s roads, the link roads also facilitate the development of business establishments.
