Members of TRS and BJP clashed at Palivela in Mandal, Munugode on Tuesday. The CPI state unit has asked the Election Commission to take stern action against the BJP leader’s attack on the TRS leader in the village of Palivela in Munugode.
Hyderabad: The CPI state unit has asked the Election Commission to take stern action against BJP leaders who attacked TRS leaders in Munugode’s Palivela village on Tuesday, and wants more state and central troops to be deployed to run the polls smoothly.
BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy fears he will lose the Munugode vote and intimidate voters in the constituency. The BJP leader attacked several personnel and journalists in Ankireddygudem, Choutuppal, on Monday, CPI State Secretary K Sambasiva Rao said in a statement to the ECI.
Likewise, the BJP leader attacked the TRS leader in the village of Paliwala, and the TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and others suffered some injuries. He said the BJP was using all tactics to create tension and cancel the vote.
Given all these developments, draconian action should be taken against the BJP leaders. He added that detailed security arrangements should be in place to ensure the free and fair conduct of the Munugode bypoll. EOM
