Adilabad: Even with police measures to prevent the office, crime in the area will still rise by 38% in 2022.
Superintendent D Uday Kumar Reddy said the district registered 3,231 cases this year compared to 2,337 in 2021, an increase of 38.25%. However, the conviction rate rose slightly. There will be 721 convictions in 2022, compared to 638 the previous year, an increase of 13%.
Violence against women, traffic accidents, financial crime, drunk driving, gambling and matka cases have surged this year. However, murders and violence against underage girls have declined. As many as 1,112 cases will be resolved through Lok Adalat in 2022, compared to 840 in 2021. A total of 41 serious crimes were filed in court this year, compared with 16 in the same year.

Uday Kumar said the region has seen a significant increase in convictions due to the efforts of court duty officers and prosecutors. He congratulated Prosecutors M Ramana Reddy, Sanjay Vairagari, Mekala Madhukar and Devender. He said the police department was committed to reducing road accidents by 2023.
The SP further said that in addition to distributing blankets to the tribes, five large health camps will be held in 2022. The average response time for calls received through the Dial 100 service is four minutes, he said. He added that 530 aspirants for constable positions received special mentoring and 14 police officers received medals for their outstanding performance.
