Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Wednesday arrested a five-member interstate gang of robbers and confiscated mobile phones, screwdrivers, knives and recovered stolen goods from them.
Cyberabad police chief Stephen Raveendra said the gang, involved in 175 cases, had come to the city from the neighboring state of Maharashtra to rob jewelry stores and banks.
“Based on the specific information, the police caught them before they launched the attack,” the official said.
The gang are proficient at their craft and don’t hesitate to attack the inmates in the house when they resist them. In Maharashtra, there are also several recorded physical crimes against them.
Police produced them in court and remanded them in custody.
