Oda: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi restarted his Bharat Jodo Yatra on the 91st day on Wednesday as he and other yatris traveled from Darra Station Ganesh Mandir to the coaching capital Kota at 6 am.
The yatra has traveled more than 2,400 kilometers so far since its departure from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, and the first leg of the third day will be at least 13 kilometers in Rajasthan to Dakotara Depra’s Mandana.
Yatris will take a lunch break there before continuing the 9km drive at 3.30pm for a corner meeting at the salsa resort at 6.30pm. They will then travel to Jagpur, Kota, about 8 kilometers away, for an overnight stay.
Gandhi folded his hands and bowed in front of the Ganesh temple as he began his procession on Wednesday. The dance was first performed by a group of tribal entertainers from Banswara.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his former deputy Sachin Pilot, state assembly chairman Govind Singh Dotasra, state minister Mahesh Joshi, AICC national secretary and chairman of Rajasthan Seed Corporation Dhiraj Gurjar and a slew of district leaders, the party Workers accompanied Gandhi to the leg of the event.
At 5:30 in the morning, they set off after hoisting the national flag.
More than 1,500 party members and about 5,000-7,000 people from Bhilawa and Banswara districts have joined, Gurjar said, holding flags in their hands.
Gurjar was an MP from Jahajpur, Bhilwara from 2013 to 2018.
