New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday allowed Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez to fly abroad between May 25 and June 12 in the Rs 2 billion blackmail case involving crook Sukesh Chandrasekhar. one of the defendants.
Jacqueline submitted an application stating that she needed to travel to Abu Dhabi for the IIFA Awards from May 25th to 27th and to film in Milan from May 28th to June 12th.
Special Judge Shailendra Malik of Patiala House Courts allowed her to fly abroad.
On November 15, the court granted Jacqueline bail before being arrested.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently filed a second supplemental charge sheet, naming Jacqueline as a defendant. On 26 September, the court granted her temporary protection from arrest.
Jacqueline and another Bollywood celebrity, Nora Fatehi, recorded their statements as witnesses in the case. Earlier, the ED had seized Rs 7.2 lakh worth of assets and fixed deposits belonging to Jacqueline, labeling the gifts and property as “proceeds” of crimes received by the actor.
In February, the ED filed its first additional charges against Pinky Irani, who allegedly was Chandrashekhar’s assistant who introduced him to the Bollywood actor.
The indictment alleges that Pinky selected expensive gifts for Jacqueline and placed them at her residence after Chandrashekhar paid for them. In December 2021, the investigating agency filed its first indictment on the matter.
According to official sources, Chandrashekhar has spent around Rs 20 crore on various models and Bollywood celebrities. Some refused to accept his gift.
